GOLF

Posted by mom23wildboys on March 13, 2008

Here is another golf cake for my sister’s MIL. She is now 60! The cake is white (sort of, I use the whole egg) with cream cheese filling and chocolate icing. I used butter cream for the writing.

BASKETBALL CUPCAKES

Posted by mom23wildboys on February 23, 2008

I made these for the last basketball game of the season.  Our team came in 2nd in the top bracket and 3rd in the league!  The boys played very well.  I can’t get over how much Jackson has improved this season!

SCARDY CAT

Posted by mom23wildboys on October 10, 2007

SCARDY CAT

THIS CAT IS AFRAID OF BEING EATEN! HOW CUTE IS THIS SCARDY CAT? CAN YOU BELIEVE I DIDN’T EVEN MAKE ANY MONEY FOR THIS CAT? A FRIEND WAS HAVING A BON FIRE FOR HALLOWEEN AND I JUST COULDN’T RESIST MAKING THIS CAKE! AFTER 5 HOURS OF ICING THIS CAKE, I CAN EASILY RESIST MAKING IT NOW!! THE CAKE IS CHOCOLATE AND BAKED WITH A HORSESHOE PAN ON THE BOTTOM WITH A 6″ ROUND PAN FOR THE HEAD, THE EARS ARE BIG MARSHMALLOWS CUT IN HALF, THE WHISKERS ARE RAW SPAGHETTI STICKS ICED WITH CHOCOLATE AND THE TAIL IS ANOTHER SPAGHETTI STICK ICED WITH CHOCOLATE AND THEN PIPED LIKE THE REST OF THE BODY. I ICED THE CAKE SMOOTH IN CHOCOLATE BEFORE I PIPED THE HAIR IN. THE ‘HAIR’ ON THE CAT IS PIPED WITH THE SAME TIP THAT I USED ON THE MONSTER CUPCAKES BELOW, IT’S A MULTI-OPENED TIP. AS YOU CAN SEE, I STOPPED ICING FOR A FEW MINUTES TO UNCRAMP MY HAND! THAT’S THE LIGHTER LOOKING ICING ON TOP. THE ICING GETS DARKER THE LONGER IT SITS AND I DIDN’T WAIT LONG ENOUGH AFTER I FINISHED BEFORE I TOOK THE PICTURE! THE MAIN THING IS THAT IT LOOKED GOOD BEFORE IT WAS DEVOURED!!

ALL ARE ICED IN CHOCOLATE ICING WITH MINI MARSHMALLOW HEADS, CHOCOLATE ICED FACES AND WHITE ICING BONES. JUST IN CASE YOU ARE CURIOUS, THERE WEREN’T ANY CUPCAKES THAT MADE IT HOME!

MONSTER MASH

Posted by mom23wildboys on October 1, 2007

These cute little monster’s aren’t scary one bit! You are the one wanting to eat them, not the other way around!

Monster Cupcakes

These yummy cupcakes are chocolate with chocolate icing. On top of the icing is a big marshmallow covered in green icing with yellow icing eyes(mini M&M’s could be used), the hair is chocolate icing and I used a multi-opening tip and pulled up!

I had lots of fun making this cake. The cake is triple chocolate cake, and the icing is Dark Chocolate icing. What else is there to say? Chocolate Overload!

Strawberry Shortcake

Posted by mom23wildboys on September 18, 2007

I did this cake for a little girl’s 2nd birthday. There was going to be a crowd, so this cake is actually 4 mixes! The bottom cake is chocolate and the size is 11 X 15 X 3 . Strawberry Shortcake is well, DUH, strawberry ;) The icing is buttercream I’ve got purple sugar glitter on the bottom layer, pink sugar glitter on the pink part of her hat and red sugar glitter on the red band and strawberry on her hat. I think the glitter makes the cake just a bit more special.
Strawberry Shortcake

Here is another Strawberry Shortcake cake. This actually the first one that I did, but I like the one above better, so I put it up first. What do you think? Which one do you like better? This cake was all strawberry. I made this one with another lady and didn’t really have free reign of my creative talents :) The lady who did this cake with me wanted to follow the directions that came with the pan to a TEE. Granted, I don’t think she looks bad at all, I just think the one above looks a little nicer.

This cake was for a little girl’s 1st birthday. I’ve made her cake every year, she just turned 4! I’ll get that one up pretty soon!

Strawberry Shortcake A

This is the smash cake we did for the birthday girl. I’m berry pleased with how it turned out! I’ve been able to put the little heart pan to use quite a bit!

What A BOOB ;)

Posted by mom23wildboys on September 7, 2007

**UPDATE ~ ERIC AND I WERE SITTING AT THE COMPUTER WATCHING THE SCREEN SAVER SCROLL THRU ALL OF THE PICTURES AND A PICTURE OF THIS CAKE POPPED UP.  ERIC LOOKED AT IT AND STARTED TO LAUGH AS HE SAID:

“THOSE ARE SUNGLASSES”!

This cake was ordered by a group of co-workers for one of their fellow co-workers. I need to apologize for the shape of the table! I usually take pics of my cakes after I’ve already cleaned up my mess! Oh, well, here’s a slice of reality for you!
